The August 1 issue of Hakusensha's The Hana to Yume magazine announced on Saturday that Yoko Matsushita will resume the main series of her Descendants of Darkness (Yami no Matsuei) fantasy manga in the next issue. It has been over eight years since the last new chapter in the main series.
As previously announced, the same August 1 issue of The Hana to Yume also ran a Descendants of Darkness Special Edition (Yami no Matsuei: Tokubetsu-hen) chapter. Even though this chapter is not part of the main series, it is the first new story chapter for Descendants of Darkness since a supplement ran an installment in 2006's sixth issue of the main Hana to Yume magazine, about five years ago. The August 1 issue also bundled a Descendants of Darkness book cover.
Matsushita serialized the main Descendants of Darkness manga in Hana to Yume from 1994 to 2002. There was an eight-year gap between the 11th Descendants of Darkness book volume and the 12th volume, which shipped in Japan last January.
Viz Media published the 11th volume of the manga in North America in 2006. J.C. Staff animated a 13-episode television from 2000 to 2001, and Central Park Media released the anime in North America. The anime has since run on America's Sci Fi Channel.

For the shonen-ai fans out there. I will be honest, my sister and I enjoyed the manga. *watches as my public image sinks lower than it has been in months*
Joking aside, I am kinda interested in how they will be doing this time.
